Answer and explanation:

Daisy, Jordan, and Myrtle are characters in "The Great Gatsby", a novel by author F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Daisy is Gatsby's love interest. Daisy was once a romantic. She was a popular girl who fell in love with Gatsby, a poor young officer who ended up leaving for war. After marrying Tom, Daisy became skeptical about men, although part of her romanticism remains. She loved Tom when they got married, but after being cheated on by him several times - even while giving birth to their daughter -, Daisy has changed her perspective on love. She now sees men as a necessary evil, something to complete her own emptiness. Tom is the husband she has to have, the man to protect her, to support her, to afford her luxuries. Gatsby is the lover she also has to have, to make her feel valued, seen, admired. She feels she can love them both for the different things they have to offer. And she knows how to seduce others too. Nick, the narrator, is Daisy's cousin, but even he is in complete awe of her.

Jordan is the most independent one. She is not emotionally unavailable but, unlike the other two women, she is as ready to open up as she is to shut down. She and the narrator, Nick, begin a sort of shallow relationship in which she is the admired and he is the admirer. At least at the beginning for, after some time, Nick realizes the superficiality and hypocrisy of all the other characters, including Jordan. She is morally flexible, ignoring sins, crimes and faults as long as she is having fun and enjoying life. She is treated with respect by both Gatsby and Tom - Tom even feels protective towards her. But she knows how to take care of herself. Her self-esteem and social ability are more than enough to keep her safe in a world full of phonies.

Myrtle is Wilson's wife and Tom's lover. Tom represents everything she wishes to possess - wealth, beauty, strength, freedom. While Wilson owns a garage/gas station in the Valley of Ashes, Tom keeps an apartment for Myrtle in New York, where they party wildly. Not much is shown about the way Wilson treats Myrtle until later in the book. When he figures out she is seeing someone else, he gets so angry at her that he feels sick. It is then that we see his controlling side; he decides he will take her away with him. Tom is also abusive toward Myrtle. He does spoil her a little, giving her a bit of luxury. But he has no scruples beating her when she mentions his wife's name. Still, that isn't enough to drive her away from him. She is used to abusive men - only Tom offers more perks than Wilson. Nick, the narrator, doesn't think much of Myrtle. She is attractive, that's for sure. But he sees her as Tom's lover from the beginning.

Your question is not properly arranged, which makes it difficult to be understood. Please let me assume your proper question to be this;

The language of price controls Suppose that, in a competitive market without government regulations, the equilibrium price of rental cars is $58 per day.

Complete the following table by indicating whether each of the statements is an example of a price ceiling or a price floor and whether it is binding or nonbinding.

Statement: Price Control, Binding or Not.

1. Due to new regulations, car-rental companies that would like to pay better wages in order to hire more workers are prohibited from doing so.

2. The government prohibits car-rental companies from renting out rental cars for more than $36 per day.

3. The government has instituted a legal minimum price of $87 per day for rental cars.

ANSWER: 1. The statement is a PRICE CEILING and BINDING.

2. The statement is a PRICE CEILING and NOT BINDING.

3. The statement is a PRICE FLOOR and BINDING.

EXPLANATION:

1. The statement is a PRICE CEILING and BINDING. This is a price ceiling, because the government has set a maximum limit that cannot be exceeded in payment of wages. This is binding because it is a regulation, that's means it has passed through the legal chambers before it was instituted.

2. The statement is a PRICE CEILING and NOT BINDING. This is a price ceiling because the government has set a maximum limit of $36 per day for car rental companies, and prohibit any company that rents out car above the set limit. This is not binding because it is a declaration by the government political activities, plans and intentions, which does not have a legal background. Therefore it can be easily changed by a new government.

3. The statement is a PRICE FLOOR and BINDING. This statement is a price floor because the government set a minimum limit or benchmark of price to be $87 per day. Therefore no company is required to sell below the limit. This is binding because it is legal, that means it has passed through the legal chambers before is was instituted.

A binding statement is a legal agreement between two parties, that helps to regulate their activities. For a statement to be binding it must be legally instituted.

Price ceiling is the maximum price a goods or services can be sold. This is set by the government or organization in other to regulate the selling of such goods or services.

Price floor is the minimum amount a dealer is willing to sell a goods or services. This is also set by the government, or the organization is other to regulate the price of the goods or services.

lisabon 2012 [21]

Firms often have the option to reduce the scale of operations at some point in the future, which is known as an abandonment option.

An investment contract's abandonment option is a provision that gives parties the opportunity to end the agreement before it matures.

It offers value by allowing the parties to cancel the commitment if circumstances change and the investment becomes unprofitable.

The ability of management to determine whether or not to finish that project is actually what is meant by an abandonment option.

One of the four different real options (options on tangible assets) that can be added to investment projects like gold mines, airplanes, cargo ships, heavy equipment, and so forth is an abandonment option.

In bilateral agreements without a predetermined expiration date, abandonment options are frequently employed.
