The first computer or ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator Analyzer and Computer) which the University of Pennsilvania built to do ballistics calculations for the U.S. and other early computers proved to many universities and corporations that these machines were useful because They could solve problems in 30 seconds that otherwise would have taken 12 hours by hand.
For this reason, most of the first computers in the United States were purchased by universities and corporations in spite of the space ,manpower and the tremendous investment of money, they demanded in this early stages.
The Great Compromise happened because of the issue between the New Jersey and Virginia plan. Where they were arguing about the amount of representation they get in the government.
The Great Compromise made 2 things essentially.
1.) It made larger states happy by creating the House of Representatives which made representation by population of the state.
2.) Made smaller states happy by creating the Senate which let each state have 2 votes.
Ultimately the Great Compromise made it so that every state felt like they had a say in the government no matter of size. It met everybody needs while also making sure no state had more power over the others.
Hope that helped.
The most famous Englishman of the XVI century, no doubt, was Francis Drake. An English navigator, pirate, Vice Admiral (1588). Which played a decisive role in the defeat of the Spanish "Invincible Armada".
Francis Drake decided to do his own pirate craft. He began attacking Spanish ships carrying treasures. For 12 years, Captain Drake has accumulated a considerable maritime experience and some capital, which allowed him to offer the Queen and her approximate project pirate expedition to Spanish colonies on the Pacific coast of America.
The English Queen was sympathetic to Drake's plans and even made a contribution to the expedition's financial support.
In 1763 they resulted with the Treaty of Paris. This provided Great Britain with territorial gain in North America, which then led to the American Revolution!
