1) -3x -3 -7x = 17
• start by grouping so add -3x and -7x which gives you -10x
• 10x -3 (+3) = 17 +3 = 20 add 3 on both sides)
• 10x (/10) = 20/ 10 = 2
1) x = 2

2) 10x -6 (+6) = 24 + 6 = 30
• 10x (/10) = 30/ 10 = 3
2) x = 3

3) -4 (+4) -5x = -39 +4 = -35
• -5x (/-5) = -35/ -5 = 7
3) x = 7

4) 3x - 5 > 10
this one i don’t understand, is there a typo maybe ?

5) -5x + x + 16 = -3 you can put a 1 to hold the place of x to make it 1x
• (-5x + 1x) + 16 = -3
• -4x + 16 (-16) = -3 -16 = -19
• -4x (/-4) = -19/ -4 = 4.75 or 4 3/4
5) x = 4.75

Line CT and line SM intersect at point A. What is the relationship between angle TAM and angle CAS?
Andru [333]

he relationship between angle TAM and angle CAS is: vertical angles pair, and they are congruent to each other.

<h3>What are Vertical Angles Pair?</h3>

When two straight lines intersect each other at a point, they form four angles. The pair of angles that are directly opposite each other are referred to as vertical angles pair. These angles are congruent to each other. That is, they have the same angle measures.

The image attached below shows the intersection of two lines, line CT and line SM. They intersect at A to form four angles.

Two pairs of vertically opposite angles were formed. angle TAM and angle CAS is one of the vertical angles pair that was formed.

Therefore, the relationship between angle TAM and angle CAS is: vertical angles pair, and they are congruent to each other.

yan [13]

Answer:

Part a) Ernest's calculation was correct

Part b) Ernest's calculation was correct

Step-by-step explanation:

The picture of the question in the attached figure

<u><em>The complete question is</em></u>

Ernest calculated the slope of the graph during the uphill climb to be 10. His work is shown below.

Points: (60.900). (15, 450)

Slope : 900-450/60-15=450/45=10

Part a) Determine whether his calculation was correct or incorrect, and then explain why.

Part b) Confirm or disprove Ernest's work by selecting two different points and applying the slope formula. be sure to identify the points you chose

Part a)

we know that

The formula to calculate the slope between two points is equal to

m=\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

we have the points

A(60,900),B(15,450)

Remember that

m_A_B=m_B_A

step 1

Find m_A_B

substitute in the formula

m_A_B=\frac{450-900}{15-60}\\\\m_A_B=\frac{-450}{-45}=10

step 2

Find m_B_A

substitute in the formula

m_B_A=\frac{900-450}{60-15}\\\\m_B_A=\frac{450}{45}=10

therefore

Ernest's calculation was correct, because m_A_B=m_B_A

Part b) selecting two different points

we take the points

(0,300) and (50,800) -----> see the attached figure

substitute in the formula of slope

m=\frac{800-300}{50-0}

m=\frac{500}{50}

m=10

therefore

Ernest's calculation was correct
