Answer:

(20 - 3x) + (20 - 7x) = 25 with x being the price of the item bought. (I think)

Step-by-step explanation:

I believe this would be the equation, I'm not sure what the answer would be though, sorry about that.

Answer:

X= $1.5

Step-by-step explanation:

y=mx +b

Y= total amount they had,  M= the amount they bought,  X= how much the item cost, B= the amount they of change they had left

40= 10x + 25

Subtract 25 from both sides

40-25= 15

15= 10x

divide 10 from both sides

15/10= 1.5

x= 1.5

Solve the equation 0.5p -3.45= -1.2.
ddd [48]

Answer:

4.5

Step-by-step explanation:

0.5p-3.45=-1.2

add 3.45 to -1.2 which would leave the equation to look like

0.5p=2.25

then divide 0.5 to both sides cancelling 0.5 leaving the answer to be

p=4.5

Answer:

Solutions are -10 and 26

Step-by-step explanation:

( - the abolute sign I'm using

( x - 8 ) + 2 = 20

( x - 8 ) = 18

x - 8 = 18 (postive case)

x - 8 + 8 = 18 + 8

x = 26

( x - 8 ) = 18

x - 8 = -18 (negative case)

x - 8 + 8 = -18 + 8

x = -10

Find the slope of the line that passes through the points (0,-11) and (8,-8).
Korolek [52]

To find the slope of a line, we can use the following formula:

\displaystyle \large{m =  \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1} }

m-term stands for slope or gradient. The formula is useful whenever you want to find a slope of two points.

Let these be the following:

\displaystyle \large{(x_1,y_1) = (0, - 11)} \\  \displaystyle \large{(x_2,y_2) = (8, - 8)}

Substitute the points in formula:

\displaystyle \large{m =  \frac{ - 8 -( - 11)}{ 8 - 0} }

Negative multiply negative always come out as positive.

\displaystyle \large{m =  \frac{ - 8  +  11}{ 8 - 0} } \\  \displaystyle \large{m =  \frac{ 3}{ 8 } } \\

Since m stands for slope, we can say that:

\displaystyle  \large \boxed{ \tt{slope  =  \frac{3}{8} }}

Qual a raiz da equação X²+5X-14=0 ?
ElenaW [278]

Answer:

e) Hence 2, -7 are roots of the equation X² + 5X - 14 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

given equation : X² + 5X - 14 = 0

⇒ X² + 7X - 2X - 14 = 0

⇒ X·(X + 7) - 2·(X + 7) = 0

⇒ (X + 7)·(X - 2) = 0

⇒ X = -7, X = 2

<u>Hence 2, -7 are roots of the equation X² + 5X - 14 = 0</u>
