The answer is Latent Function.

Explanation: Latent Function Example,

The latent functions of a school can be broken into 3 categories: social integration, establishing relationships, and conformity to peer norms.

Social Integration refers to giving a child the opportunity to socialize with peers and other adults through either learning activities, events, or organized sports. Examples of latent education through social integration include:

Learning to share and work with others in small groups

A child learning how to practice patience from interacting with his or her teacher

Learning cooperation from participating in sports and being able to take direction from a coach

Going to dances and participating in other school-based events

Establishing relationships is the specific act of making a connection with someone in a way that each person knows the other on a personal level. These examples include:

Being intentional about going places and doing things together

Dating

The ability to make friends

Conformity to peer norms occur when a person begins to match the attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors of their established peer group.

Encouraging and discouraging behaviors

Participation in extracurricular activities that are based on specific attitudes, such as Student Government Association

Reinforcement of expectations about college or other higher education

Reinforcement of behaviors such as speech or attire amongst a peer group

Social integration and establishing relationships are two examples of the latent functions of educations.

Children Learning

Another instance of a latent function is keeping young adults in school so that if they are to work, they only can do so on a part-time basis. Keeping those people out of the job market helps to keep unemployment low. Although it does not fit within one of the above-mentioned categories, it is recognized as an unintended benefit of school that helps the economy. Another instance that does not fit within the prior-mentioned categories, but is also notable to mention, is free school lunch. Feeding children free meals helps to reduce food insecurity and keeps those who would otherwise go hungry fueled throughout the day.
