There is a direct relationship between amplitude and energy. if amplitude of the wave increases, the wave has more energy while on the other hand, if the amplitude decreases, the energy of the waves also decreases. Direct relationship means one increases the other automatically increases and vice versa. So due to this direct relationship, the wave having 12 units amplitude has higher energy as compared to the wave having amplitude of 5 units.
