Solution :

Cost of carpeting per square yard = $ 15.00

<u>For 3 ft by 6 ft</u>

1 yard = 3 feet

∴ 1 feet =  $\frac{1}{3}$ yard

So,

Therefore, area of 3 ft by 6 ft is = $3 \times \frac{1}{3} \times 6 \times \frac{1}{3} $

                                                    = 1 x 2

                                                    = 2 square yard

Therefore, cost of carpeting 2 square yard = 2 x 15

                                                                       = $ 30

<u>For 9 ft by 12 ft</u>

1 yard = 3 feet

∴ 1 feet =  $\frac{1}{3}$ yard

So,

Therefore, area of 9 ft by 12 ft is = $9 \times \frac{1}{3} \times 12 \times \frac{1}{3} $

                                                    = 3 x 4

                                                    = 12 square yard

Therefore, cost of carpeting 2 square yard = 12 x 15

                                                                       = $ 180

Quadrilateral ABCD is located at A(−2, 2), B(−2, 4), C(2, 4), and D(2, 2). The quadrilateral is then transformed using the rule
quester [9]

Given vertices of the Quadrilateral ABCD :

A(−2, 2),

B(−2, 4),

C(2, 4), and

D(2, 2).

The quadrilateral is then transformed using the rule (x − 2, y + 8).

Let us find the coordinate  A', B', C', and D' by rule (x − 2, y + 8).

A(−2, 2) ---> (-2-2 , 2+8) = (-4, 10)

B(−2, 4) ---> (-2-2, 4+8) = (-4, 12)

C(2, 4), ---> ( 2-2, 4+8) = (0, 12)

D(2, 2) ---> (2-2, 2+8) = (0, 10).

So, <u>the coordinates of A', B', C', and D' are </u>

<u>A'(-4, 10), B'(-4, 12), C'(0, 12), and D'(0, 10).</u>

For the new coordinates we get we can say that each of the coordinate A', B', C', and D' moved 2 unit left and 8 units up.

An airplane's change in altitude before landing is shown in the table. what equation represents this change in altitude?
Stella [2.4K]

Answer:

a=-4000m+39000

Step-by-step explanation:

From the given table, we can see that the difference between any consecutive altitude is 4000 ft.

31000 - 35000 = -4000

27000- 31000 = -4000

23000-27000 = -4000

Hence, it represents an arithmetic sequence with a = 3500 and d = -4000

The general term of an arithmetic sequence is given by

a_n=a+(n-1)d\\\\a=35000+(m-1)(-4000)\\\\a=35000-4000m+4000\\\\a=-4000m+39000

How many miles are equivalent to 3.1 kilometers? 1 kilometer is about 0.62 mile
Anton [14]

Answer:

1.922 miles is equivalent to 3.1 kilometers.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

1 km = 0.62 miles.

3.1 km = ? miles

Now, in order to find the number of miles equivalent to 3.1 km, we use unitary method with the help of the conversion factor.

From the conversion factor, we can conclude that kilometer is a smaller unit compared to that of mile.

So, conversion factor = \frac{0.62\ miles}{1\ km}

The formula to transform 'n' kilometers to miles is given as:

=Conversion\ factor\times n

Therefore, 3.1 km = \frac{0.62\ miles}{1\ km}\times 3.1\ km

3.1 km = 1.922 miles

Therefore, 1.922 miles is equivalent to 3.1 kilometers.

The ratio of youths to adults at a skating rink is 13:7. What percent of these people are youths?
lara31 [8.8K]
The percentage of people at the scathing ring that are Youth is 65%. You would have to add 13 + 7, to get 20. Then you do 100 percent divided by 20 to get 5. Finally, you would do 5 times 13 to reach 65%.

klemol [59]

Answer:

height= 4.8cm

Step-by-step explanation:

volume= length×width× height given the volume and length and width, 288=12×5×h

288=60h

divide both sides by 60

h=4.8cm
