Many insects migrate (travel) between their summer and winter homes. The desert locust migrates about 800 miles farther than the

Monarch butterfly every spring, and the pink-spotted hawk moth migrates about 200 miles less than four times the distance of the Monarch butterfly every spring. Laid end to end, the distances traveled by a Monarch butterfly, a desert locust, and a pink-spotted hawk moth is about 12600 miles every spring. How far does each species travel?

Answer:

Distance travelled by Monarch butterfly = 2000 miles

Distance travelled by desert locust  = 2800

Distance travelled by pink-spotted hawk moth= 7800 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the distance travelled by Monarch butterfly  be "X" miles

Distance travelled by desert locust is equal to X + 800 miles

Distance travelled by pink-spotted hawk moth is equal to 4X -200 miles

The total distance travelled by the three is equal to 12600 miles

X + X + 800 + 4X -200 = 12600\\6X = 12600 -600\\6X = 12000\\X = 2000

Distance travelled by Monarch butterfly = 2000 miles

Distance travelled by desert locust  = 2000 + 800 = 2800

Distance travelled by pink-spotted hawk moth = 4 * 2000 -200 = 7800 miles

Multiply: (x−5)(x−7) A x2−12x+35 B x2+2x+35 C x2+35 D x2+35x−12
ioda

Answer:

x^2 -12x+35

Step-by-step explanation:

(x−5)(x−7)

FOIL

first  x*x = x^2

outer -7x

inner -5x

last -7*-5 = 35

Add them together

x^2 -7x-5x +35

x^2 -12x+35

The following points are on the graph of a function:
Maurinko [17]

An inverse function reverses the roles of inputs and outputs (of x-values and y-values).

If (2,4) is on the graph of a function, then (4,2) is on the graph of the inverse function.

If (9,7) is on the graph of the inverse, then (7,9) would be on the graph of the original function.

If (a,b) is on the graph of the function, then (b,a) is on the graph of the inverse.

Getting to your question, which of the points listed has the inverse listed up in the table?

Mary and Benjamin are driving to their friend Paul’s house for a birthday party. Mary drives nine miles north and six miles east
choli [55]
Let Paul's house be at the origin of a coordinate grid. then Mary lives at (-6,-9) and Benjamin lives at (7,3). using the distance formula for these two points gives us d=√(-6-7)² + (-9-3)².
d=√169+144 or√313 miles, or about 17.69 miles.
