>= means greater than or equal to
<= means less than or equal to

---------------------------------------------

Part A

The graph of y >= -3x+3 will have a solid boundary line and the shading will be above the boundary line.

The boundary line y = -3x+3 has a negative slope so it moves down as you read it from left to right. It goes through the points (0,3) and (1,0)

--------------

The graph of y < (3/2)x - 6 will have a dashed or dotted boundary line. The shading is below the boundary.

The graph y = (3/2)x-6 goes through the two points (0,-6) and (2,-3)

--------------

If you graph both y >= -3x+3 and y < (3/2)x - 6 together, you get what you see in the attached image. This solution shaded region is the result of the overlapping prior shaded regions.

---------------------------------------------

Part B

Plug (x,y) = (-6,3) into each inequality to see if we get a true inequality or not

For the first inequality we have
y >= -3x+3
3 >= -3*(-6)+3
3 >= 18+3
3 >= 21
which is false. The value 3 is not larger or equal to 21. So right off the bat we know that (-6,3) is NOT a solution. It is NOT in the solution region.

Let's check the other inequality just for the sake of completeness
y < (3/2)x - 6
3 < (3/2)*(-6) - 6
3 < -9 - 6
3 < -15
this is also false. The value -15 is smaller than 3, since it is to the left of 3

We're given more evidence that (-6,3) is NOT in the solution area. It is outside of both shaded areas.

Simplify the picture below
podryga [215]
((x^2-3x-18)/(x+3))
((x-6)(x+3))/(x+3)
The x+3 on top cancels out the x+3 on the bottom so all you have left is

x-6

Hope I didn't mess up for your sake!

A food can claim it is "high in" a particular nutrient if it contains 20% or more of the DV. This food is a "high ____" food.
oee [108]

Answer: Iron

Explanation:

The food contain high iron food as the daily value (DV) of the iron is 45% and most of the nutrient claimed that food contain low sodium but contain good source of the fiber. The food is high in the amount of the nutrient with 20% daily value.

The daily value actually recommend the minimum amount of the particular nutrient which everyone should consume in daily life.

Find the sum of all 11 terms of an AP whose middlemost terms is 30?
Bond [772]

Let the difference between consecutive terms be D. If the middle term is 30, then the term before it is 30-D, and the term after it is 30+D. So the sum of these three terms would be (30-D) + 30 + (30+D) = 3*30.

Extending this sum to include all 11 terms centered around 30, we see that any addition of D is canceled by a balanced subtraction, leaving you with 11 copies of 30. So the value of the sum is 11*30 = 330.

Aleonysh [2.5K]
3 piano solos....each is 5/12 hr....
u can either add : 5/12 + 5/12 + 5/12 = 15/12 = 1 1/4 hrs

or u could multiply : 3 * 5/12 = 15/12 = 1 1/4 hs

either way....same answer
