Answer: \dfrac{8}{3}\ m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Length of the plank is 6\ m

Foot of the flank is 4\ m away from the wall

Lizard climbs 2 m up the wall

from the figure, the two triangles are similar

\therefore \dfrac{2}{6}=\dfrac{x}{4}\\\\\Rightarrow x=4\times \dfrac{2}{6}\\\\\Rightarrow x=\dfrac{4}{3}\ m

So, the distance from the wall is

\Rightarrow 4-x\\\\\Rightarrow 4-\dfrac{4}{3}\\\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{8}{3}\ m

A safe has a 4-digit lock code that does not include zero as a digit and no digit is repeated. What is the probability of a lock
Elenna [48]
Probability of lock code with all even digits =  (4/9) ^ 4 =  256/6561 = 0.039

So probabiilty of lock without all even digits = 1 - 0.039  =  0..961.

A cone has a slant height of a 26 cm and a radius of 10 cm what is the height of the cone
Vedmedyk [2.9K]

The height of the cone is 24 cm.

<h3>How is the slant height calculated?</h3>

The distance along the curved surface, measured from the edge at the top to a point on the circumference of the circle at the base, is known as the slant height of an object (such as a cone or pyramid). In other words, the slant height, represented either as s or l, is the shortest distance that may be traveled along the surface of the solid.

Slant height(l)=26cm

Radius(r)=10cm

It is known that, l^{2}=r^{2}+h^{2}

Here, h is the height of the cone.

On substituting the values,

26^{2}= 10^{2}+h^{2}

\\676=100+h^{2}\\

h^{2}=676-100\\

h^{2}=576\\

h=\sqrt{576}\\

h=24
