What is the solution to the equation?
Oxana [17]

ANSWER

(C) d=1

EXPLANATION

The given equation is

\frac{ - 3d}{ {d}^{2} - 2d - 8} +  \frac{3}{d - 4}  =  \frac{ - 2}{d + 2}

Factor the first fraction to get,

\frac{ - 3d}{(d + 2)(d - 4)} +  \frac{3}{d - 4}  =  \frac{ - 2}{d + 2}

Multiply through by (d+2)(d-4)

- 3d + 3(d + 2) =  - 2(d - 4)

Expand:

- 3d + 3d + 6 =  - 2d + 8

6 =  - 2d + 8

6  - 8=  - 2d

- 2 =  - 2d

divide both sides by -2

d = 1

Drag and drop each expression into the box to correctly classify it as having a positive or negative product
AfilCa [17]

Following expressions will have negative product

(\frac{1}{2})(-\frac{1}{2})\ and\ (-\frac{1}{2})(\frac{1}{2})

Following expressions will have positive product

(-\frac{1}{2})(-\frac{1}{2})\ and\ (\frac{1}{2})(\frac{1}{2})

Further explanation:

We will see at each expression one by one

First expression is:

(-\frac{1}{2})(\frac{1}{2})

In the given expression one term is positive and one term is negative. The product of negative and positive terms is negative.

Second Expression is:

(-\frac{1}{2})(-\frac{1}{2})

Both terms are negative and the product of two negative terms is positive.

Third Expression is:

(\frac{1}{2})(-\frac{1}{2})

The expression has one positive and one negative term so the product will be negative

Fourth Expression is:

(\frac{1}{2})(\frac{1}{2})

Both terms are positive so the product will also be positive

Last week at best bargain, 75% of computers sold were laptops. If 340 computer were sold there last week, how many laptops were
Eddi Din [679]
Total number of computers sold last week from Best Bargain = 340
Percentage of laptops sold last week from Best Bargain = 75%
These are the information's that we can find given in the question. Based on these information's the answer to the question can be easily found.
Number of laptops sold from Best Bargain last week = 340 * (75/100)
                                                                                     = 340 * (3/4)
                                                                                      = 85 * 3
                                                                                       = 255
So out of the total of 340 computers sold from Best Bargain last week, 255 were laptops. I hope this is the answer you were looking for.
