President Hoover was harshly criticized by many for his lack of response to the stock market and the coming economic depression.

Many Americans lost their jobs, lost their farms, survived on handouts, lived in Hoovervilles, etc.

Answer:

My recommendation would be to propose a social assistance program.

Explanation:

During the economic depression the federal government is responsible for creating programs that help the most affected population to go through such a difficult time. For this reason, my first advice would be to create a social assistance program, where the government would help people in terms of housing or food, so that they would have the least to live with. Another proposal would be the reduction of taxes and fees that low-income citizens pay, as well as the taxation of millionaires in the country, so that it is possible for the government to help those in need.
