I believe media impacts the values and beliefs about marriage positive way in the fact that it usually is percieved on media as something happy that happens in life. A commitment that will go on forever and ever. The negative side is that media has dramatic outlooks on marriage, for example getting married not because of love, but because of looks, money, other interests that are not good for us. Another negative way it works is that media does not represent enough interracial marriages, these marriages should be seen more commonly because in reality race, color, religion, or gender should not define who you fall in love with in life. I also believe that media makes marriage seem like a much smaller commitment that can be broken at any second, reflecting the multiple divorces of many people who seem to take marriage as becoming only boyfriend and girlfriend. There are many positive and negative effects that media tries to force upon others.
