Answer:

n = 20 q = 0.7, q = 0.3

Step-by-step explanation:

For each shot that she takes, there are only two possible outcomes. Either she makes or, she does not make is. The probability of making each shot is independent from other shots. So we use the binomial probability distribution to solve this problem.

Binomial probability distribution

The binomial probability is the probability of exactly x successes on n repeated trials, and X can only have two outcomes.

P(X = x) = C_{n,x}.p^{x}.(1-p)^{n-x}

In which C_{n,x} is the number of different combinations of x objects from a set of n elements, given by the following formula.

C_{n,x} = \frac{n!}{x!(n-x)!}

And p is the probability of X happening.

We also ahve that q = 1-p.

Jackie is practicing free throws after basketball practice. She makes a free throw shot with probability 0.7.

This means that p = 0.7 and q = 1-p = 0.3

She takes 20 shots.

This means that n = 20

So the correct answer is:

n = 20 q = 0.7, q = 0.3

Find the point-slope equation for
iris [78.8K]

Answer: y+9=-2(x-9)

Step-by-step explanation:

The point-slope equation is y-y_{1} =m(x-x_{1} ). All we have to do is fill in all the values except for y and x.

To find m, you use \frac{y_{2}-y_{1} }{x_{2} -x_{1} }. Since we are given 2 points, we cna plug them in.

\frac{13-(-9)}{-2-9} =\frac{22}{-11} =-2. Now that we have our slope m, we can fill in the point slope equation.

y-(-9)=-2(x-9)

y+9=-2(x-9)
