Plz help im struggling in this lesson :( What graph represents the piecewise-defined function?
LiRa [457]

Well im not good at this ,butt I'll tell you something. An open dot means that point is not included , soo something like y<208 would mean 208 is not included and have an open dot, butt a closed dot means the point is included, such as <_ 450. ( The line is supposed to be under < butt i don't know how to do that.) Hope this helps

What are the x and y intercepts of the graph of -4x + 5x = -40?
Nataly [62]

Hey!

Hope this helps...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-4x + 5x = -40
y = -4x +5x + 40
y = x + 40
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

by the look of it, after you turn that equation into slope-intercept form (y = mx + b) the intercepts are y = 40 & x = -40

A compound experiment consists of tossing a coin, drawing a letter at random from the alphabet, and then tossing two coins. What
Artemon [7]
We should each take these probabilities first individually.
Probability of tails in a coin toss = 1/2
Probability of drawing letter T from the alphabet = 1/26
Probability of 2 tails in 2 coin toss = 1/4
Sample space = {HH, TT, HT, TH}

Add these together since these events happen after another = 1/2 + 1/26 / + 1/4 = 41/52

The final probability is 41/52

baherus [9]

Answer:

The number of free throws, two-point throw, and three-point throw are 135, 173, and 111 respectively.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x,y, and z are the numbers of two-point field goals, numbers of three-point field goals, and the number of free-throws (one-point goal) respectively.

The total points= 814

\Rightarrow 2x+3y+z=814\;\cdots(i)

As the number of two-point goals was 49 less than double the number of three-point field goals she made.

\Rightarrow x=2y-49 \;\cdots(ii)

Again, the number of free goals was 38 less than the number of two-point field goals she made.

\Rightarrow z=x-38\;\cdots(iii)

From equations (i) and (iii)

2x+3y+x-38=814

\Rightarrow 3x+3y=852

\Rightarrow x+y=284

\Rightarrow 2y-49+y=284 [using equation (ii)]

\Rightarrow 3y=333

\Rightarrow y=111

From equation (ii),

x= 2\times111-38=173

From equation (iii),

z=173-38=135.

Hence,

The number of free throws, z= 135

The number of two-point throw, x=173

The number of three-point throw, y=111.
