An architect is designing a swimming pool with a base in the shape of a right triangle. According to the architect the pools dep
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

Depth = 14 ft Length = 20 ft width = 12 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that an architect is designing a swimming pool

Let length = x

width = x-8

Height = x-6

Then volume of swimming pool = base area x height

base area = area of triangle = \frac{1}{2}  x(x-8)

Volume = \frac{1}{2}  x(x-8)(x-6)=1680

Solving we find that x=20

Verify:

Length = 20: Width = 12: and height = 14

Volume = 1/2 (20)(12)(14) = 1680 ft ^3

Find the value of W and X
notka56 [123]

Answer:

W = 13.33

X = 13.10

Step-by-step explanation:

You use Trig

S = O/H. C = A/H. T = O/A

For W we have to find Adjacent using Opposite, so we're going to use Tangent

Now we have Tan = O/A and rearrange this to find Adjacent

Tan = O/A --> ATan = O --> A = O/Tan

then we plug in A = 12/Tan(42°) which gives us 13.3273.... I usually round up to the 2nd decimal, so 13.33

To find X we do the same thing with a little bit of additional work

Since we already did the work for the last one, we can just skip a few of those steps

A = 12/Tan(27°) which gives us 26.4322..... or 26.43

But that gives us the whole bottom bit, which is X+W, so just subtract the W

26.43 - 13.33 = 13.10

Sorry if I'm bad at simplifying my wording

I hope this is correct, my math seems right, but the picture is not to scale

translate each Graph as specified below(a)the graph of y=(x)+4 is shown. Translate it to get the graph of y=f(x)+4(b) The graph
Serggg [28]

Solution:

Given the graphs (a) and (b)

a) The function of graph (a) is

f(x)=-4\sqrt{x+3}+1

The graph of the function is shown below

Translating it to get the graph of

y=f(x)+4

The translated function becomes

\begin{gathered} y=f(x)+4 \\ y=(-4\sqrt{x+3}+1)+4 \\ y=-4\sqrt{x+3}+1+4 \\ y=-4\sqrt{x+3}+5 \end{gathered}

The translated graph is

b) The function of graph (a) is

g(x)=-|x|

The graph of the function is shown below

Translating it to get the graph of

y=g(x-2)

The translated function becomes

\begin{gathered} y=g(x-2) \\ y=-|x-2| \end{gathered}

The translated graph is
