My hypothesis will be that the enzyme pH will have a hot temperature and will make small amounts of the enzymes activity because it takes time to process.
The difference at a deeper depth would be water pressure crushing down on them
I think it is erosion (2) because erosion removes soil, rock, and dissolved material.
