Identify properties of water
podryga [215]

Answer:

The main properties of water are its polarity, cohesion, adhesion, surface tension, high specific heat, and evaporative cooling. A water molecule is slightly charged on both ends. This is because oxygen is more electronegative than hydrogen.

1. What happens to the ratio of surface area to volume as the cell size increases without the cell changing shape?
Paladinen [302]
As the cell size increases, the ratio of surface area to volume DECREASES.
The surface area to volume ratio refers to the area per unit volume of a cell. As a cell increase in size, the surface area  and the volume of the cell also increase but at an unequal rate, a point will be reached where the ratio of the surface area to volume will be so low that the diffusion becomes very inefficient, at this point, the cell has to divide in order to increase its surface area to volume ratio and to increase its diffusion rate.

Why does NADH and FADH2 donate their H+ to the electron transport chain readily?
galina1969 [7]

Answer:

b. Because they have a low affinity for the H+

Explanation:

All electrons that enter the transport chain come from NADH and FADH2 molecules that are produced in earlier phases of cellular respiration: glycolysis, pyruvate oxidation and the citric acid cycle.

NADH is very good at donating electrons in redox reactions (that is, its electrons are at a high energy level), so you can transfer your electrons directly to complex I and transform it back into NAD +. The movement of electrons through complex I in a series of redox reactions releases energy, which the complex uses to pump protons from the matrix into the intermembrane space.

FADH2 is not as good for donating electrons as NADH (that is, its electrons are at a lower energy level), so it cannot transfer its electrons to complex I. Instead, it introduces electrons to the transport chain through complex II, which does not pump protons through the membrane.

While flipping through the channels, you stop on a television program about primate evolution. the host says that there is a six
Ivenika [448]
I would tell the room mate  that what i just heard was the resemblance between the Fayum catarrhines and the Miocene proconsulids in skull form and dentition which suggests an evolutionary relationship, even if the direct fossils evidence is not present. Primates are divided into two groups; the prosimians and anthropoids. Monkeys evolved from Prosimians during the Oligocene Epoch while Apes evolved from the Catarrhines in Africa during the Miocene Epoch. Apes are then divided into the lesser apes and the greater apes.
