Answer:

Every integer greater than 1 is either prime or composite.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us negate this statement.

Assumption - any number greater than 1, is neither prime nor composite.

A prime number has only 2 divisors, and a composite number has at least 3.

Let a number be X such that X >1.

Now X is divisible by 1 (Any integer is divisible by 1)

And X is divisible by X (X/X = 1, if X is not zero)

So by this, we see X has at least 2 divisors, X is either prime, or composite if it has more divisors!

So our assumption is wrong, and every integer greater than 1 is either prime or composite.

One way is to first find the measure of one external angle:-

Measure 1 ext angle = 360 / 10 = 36 degrees (Note the sum of the external angles of all polygons is 360  degrees)

So the internal angle = 180 - 36 = 144

So sum of the internal angles

= 10 * 144

= 1440  degrees (answer)

The top and bottom margins of a poster are 8 cm and the side margins are each 6 cm. If the area of printed material on the poste
hammer [34]

Answer:

Dimensions of the poster

Width  29.10 cm

Height 38.80 cm

A(min) = 1129.08 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Printed area = 390 cm² = Ap

Lets call x and y dimensions of printed area

x   width

y   height

Then Ap = x*y    and

y = Ap/x    ⇒    y = 390/x

Then   total area of the poster is:

A(t)  = ( x  + 12 ) * ( y + 16 )         and   y = 390/x

A as a function of x

A(x) = ( x  + 12 ) * ( 390/x + 16 )   ⇒  A(x) = 390 + 16x + 4680/x + 192

A(x) = 582 + 16x + 4680/x     (1)

Taking derivatives

A´(x) =  16 - (4680/x²)         ⇒ A´(x)  =  0

[ 16x² -4680] /x² = 0     16x²- 4680 = 0    ⇒     x² = 4680/16

x = 17.10 cm        and    y = 390/x      y = 390/17.10      y = 22.80 cm

A(t) = ( 17.10 + 12 ) * ( 22.80 + 16 )

A(t) = 29.10 * 38.80

A(t) = 1129.08 cm²

If we substitute  in equation (1) the value of x  ( 17.10) we see A(x) > 0

Then there is a minimun at the point x = 17.10

What is this answer to this problem
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

13 and 3/5 is equivalent to 68/5. 3 is equivalent to 15/5. So, you get (68-15)/5 to get 10.6 or 10 3/5

Another way is that 3 doesn't affect the fractional part, so you just need to know that 13-3 is 10, and you get your answer of 10 3/5
