If you are trying to eliminate the y, then both of the numbers in front of the y have to be the same, but one needs to be negative and the other positive.

The easiest way to do this is multiply the top equation by 3, so you'd get -6y for the top and you could cancel it out with the +6y on the bottom.

D. Multiply the top equation by 3.

Happy New Year from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

 i ^ (2n) = (i^2)^n = (-1)^n = -1 if n is odd and = 1 if n is even

 i ^ (2n+1) = i^(2n)* i =     -1 * i = -i if n is odd and =  1*i = i if n is even

Not sure if this answers your question but hopefully pushes you n the right direction.

Thank you,

MrB

stiv31 [10]

Answer:

178.2 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

\sin(60)  =  \frac{x}{200}  \\  \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2}  =  \frac{x}{200}  \\ x = 100 \times  \sqrt{3}

So,

h = 5 + x = 5 + 100 \times  \sqrt{3}  = 178.2
