Some students live either in apartments or apartment-style dorms on campus complete with a full kitchen. For students who live i

n these types of places and who enjoy cooking, they often eat all or most of their evening meals at home. For the purposes of this project the student wants to measure how long it takes them to cook dinner. It is conjectured that the mean time that it takes the student to prepare dinner, from gathering ingredients to putting it on a plate, will be 20 minutes.
A simple random sample of 36 days was selected, and the time it took the student to cook/prepare the food each evening was recorded. The data is recorded below.

7.66 25.66 31.26 4.42 23.71 36.78 10.28 18.37 4.18 12.93 3.38 9.60 4.48 38.40
17.42 5.38 45.88 14.72 19.37 20.53 6.48 28.92 7.60 4.26 7.68 27.33 23.92 5.56
30.32 12.05 13.82 18.20 5.12 7.23 4.03 1.07

Required:
a. Using the correct statistical notation/symbol, what is the hypothesis that is made in the paragraph above?
b. Use the hypothesis stated in question 1 as the null hypothesis, and for the alternative hypothesis we want to test to see if the mean time that it takes the student to prepare dinner is different from 20 minutes. Write these two hypotheses in statistical notation.
c. Discuss the assumptions required to test the hypothesis in question 2, and whether they are satisfied in this case.

Which statement is true about this argument? premises: if an angle measure is greater than 90°, then the angle is an obtuse angl
vazorg [7]
Answer: option d. the argument is valid by the law of detachment.

The law of detachment consists in make a conlcusion in this way:

Premise 1) a => b
Premise 2) a is true

Conclusion: Then, b is true

Note: the order of the premises 1 and 2 does not modifiy the argument.

IN this case:

Premise 1) angle > 90 => obtuse

Premise 2) angle = 102 [i.e. it is true that angle > 90]]

Conclusion: it is true that angle is obtuse

The admission fee to a video game arcade is $1.25 per person, and it costs $0.50 for each game played. Latoya and donnetta
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

15 games.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here is the complete question: The admission fee to a video game arcade is $1.25 per person, and it costs $0.50 for each game played. Latoya and donnetta have total $10.00 to spend. What is the greatest number of games they will be able to play?

Given: Admission fees= $1.25 per person.

           Cost of each game played= $0.50.

           Total Money, Latoya and Donnetta have is $10.

First lets find total admission fees both will pay.

∴ Total addmission fees= Fees\ per\ person \times number\ of\ person

Total addmission fees= \$1.25\times 2= \$ 2.50

Now, money remaining after paying admission fees.

Money remaining = Total\ money - Admission\ fees

∴ Money remaining = \$10-\$2.5= \$ 7.5

∴ Money remained to play video games is $7.5.

Next, finding the maximum number of games, both will be able to play.

As we know, each game will cost $0.50.

Total number of games played= \frac{Money\ remaining}{Cost\ of\ each\ game}

⇒ Total number of games played=\frac{\$ 7.5}{\$ 0.5} = 15\ games

∴ 15 games is the maximum number of games they will be able to play.

1. x <= 31
2. x < 28

For number 1, x is less than or equal to 31 because the number of days in a month (represented by x) will be less than or equal to 31.

For number 2, x is less than 28 because the number of students (represented by x) in each class will always be less than 28.
