Some students live either in apartments or apartment-style dorms on campus complete with a full kitchen. For students who live i

n these types of places and who enjoy cooking, they often eat all or most of their evening meals at home. For the purposes of this project the student wants to measure how long it takes them to cook dinner. It is conjectured that the mean time that it takes the student to prepare dinner, from gathering ingredients to putting it on a plate, will be 20 minutes.
A simple random sample of 36 days was selected, and the time it took the student to cook/prepare the food each evening was recorded. The data is recorded below.

7.66 25.66 31.26 4.42 23.71 36.78 10.28 18.37 4.18 12.93 3.38 9.60 4.48 38.40
17.42 5.38 45.88 14.72 19.37 20.53 6.48 28.92 7.60 4.26 7.68 27.33 23.92 5.56
30.32 12.05 13.82 18.20 5.12 7.23 4.03 1.07

Required:
a. Using the correct statistical notation/symbol, what is the hypothesis that is made in the paragraph above?
b. Use the hypothesis stated in question 1 as the null hypothesis, and for the alternative hypothesis we want to test to see if the mean time that it takes the student to prepare dinner is different from 20 minutes. Write these two hypotheses in statistical notation.
c. Discuss the assumptions required to test the hypothesis in question 2, and whether they are satisfied in this case.

A group of friends were working on a student film. They spent all their budget on props and costumes. They spent $243 on props,
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer:

The total budget for their student film was $540

Step-by-step explanation:

The total percentage of any quantity is 100%

∵ A group of friends was working on a student film

∵ They spent all their budget on props and costumes

∴ The total budget of the props and costumes = 100%

∵ They spent $243 on props

∵ They spent 55% of the total budget on costumes

→ Find the percentage of the props

∴ The percentage of the props = 100% - 55%

∴ The percentage of the props of the total budget = 45%

→ That means 45% of the total budget = 243

∵ 45% × total budget = 243

→ Change the percent to a number by divide it by 100

∵ 45% = 45 ÷ 100 = 0.45

∴ 0.45 × total budget = 243

→ Divide both sides by 0.45

∴ The total budget = 540

∴ The total budget for their student film was $540

Is -2(3x-7) equivalent to 19+12x-5-6x? YES or NO???
nadezda [96]

Answer:

6. 6x-21=33+9x 7. -15x=-5(3x+7) 8. 16x-19=113-6x 9. -19x-34=56-x 10. -6(4x+3)=6(4x-3)?

6. 6x-21 = 33 +9x

+21 + 21

6x = 54 + 9x

-9x -9x

-3x = 54

/3 /3

x = -18

7. -15x = -5(3x+7)

First multiply the -5 to the other numbers.

-15x = -15x - 35

0x = -35

7 is impossible I believe.

8. 16x-19 = 113-6x

+6 +6

22x - 19 = 113

+ 19 +19

22x = 132

/22 /22

x = 6

9. -19x - 34 = 56 - x

+19x +19x

-34 = 56 + 18x

-56 -56

-90 = 18x

/18 /18

x = -5

10. -6(4x+3) = 6[4x-3]

-24x - 18 = 24x - 18

+18 +18

-24x= 24x

x = 0, since only zero can make the equation true.

One faucet fills up a bathtub in 15 minutes while the second fills it up in 10 minutes. If both faucets are turned on, what frac
yaroslaw [1]
Faucet one fills up \frac{1}{15} of the bathtub in one minute and faucet two fills up \frac{1}{10} of the bathtub in one minute. If both are one then they will fill up  \frac{1}{15}+ \frac{1}{10} = \frac{5}{30} = \frac{1}{6} So, 1/6 of the bathtub in one minute.
