Hi there!

\dfrac{x}{7} = \dfrac{5}{3}

3x = 35

x = \dfrac{35}{3}

Now, Substitute th' value of " x " in \dfrac{x + 7}{7} :-

=> \dfrac{x}{7} + \dfrac{7}{7}

=> \dfrac{x}{7} + 1

=> \dfrac{ \dfrac{35}{3} }{7} + 1

=> \dfrac{35}{3} × \dfrac{1}{7} + 1

=> \dfrac{5}{3} + 1

=> \dfrac{5 +3}{3}

=> \dfrac{8}{3}

Hence,
Th' required answer is obtained.

~ Hope it helps!

\sf Hello!

\sf We're\: Given :

\dfrac{\sf x}{\sf 7} = \dfrac{\sf 5}{\sf 3}

⇒ \sf 3x = 35

⇒ \sf x = \dfrac{\sf 35}{3}

\sf Then,

\dfrac{\sf x + 7}{\sf 7}

⇒ \dfrac{\sf x}{\sf 7} + \dfrac{\sf 7}{\sf 7}

⇒ \dfrac{\sf 35}{\sf 3} × \dfrac{\sf 1}{\sf 7} + 1

⇒ \dfrac{\sf 5}{\sf 3} + 1

⇒ \dfrac{\sf 5 + 3}{\sf 3}

⇒ \dfrac{\sf 8}{\sf 3}

\sf Therefore,

\dfrac{\sf x + 7}{\sf 7} = \dfrac{\sf 8}{\sf 3}

zysi [14]
It would be 3/20 mile because you have to multiply 1/5 by 3/4, which would give you grand total of 3/20 mile.

For example, Let's say I am graphing a proportional relationship even If it doesn't go through origin and it is an equivalent ra
Lostsunrise [7]

A proportional relationship is described by the equation

... y = k·x

The point (x, y) = (0, 0) is <em>always</em> a solution to this equation.

_____

In short, if the relationship is proportional, its graph will go through the origin. If the graph does not go through the origin, the relationship is not proportional.

___

Note that this is true if the domain includes the origin. You can have y = kx <em>for x > 10 </em>and the graph will <em>not</em> go through the origin because the function is <em>not defined</em> there.
