x-components = 1680sin40 + 1250sin60 = 2162.32kg

<span>y-components = 1680cos40 - 1250cos60 = 661.96kg</span>

<span>resultant force = | x-components + y-components | = 2261.37kg</span>

<span>direction is tan^-1(<span>2162.32/661.96) = N 73deg. W</span></span>

Resultant force in W direction
=1680sin40deg + 1250sin60deg
=2162.415

resultant force in N direction
=1680cos40deg - 1250cos60deg
=661.955

magnitude of resultant force = sqrt(2162.315^2 + 661.955^2)
=2261.37

direction of resultant force = arctan(2162.315/661.955)
=73.0
