Stacy wants to build a patio with a small, circular pond in her backyard.The pond will have a 6-foot radius. She also wants to i
solong [7]
First we are going to find the Area of the pond using the area of a circle formula: A= \pi r^2
where
A is the area of the circle
r is the radius of the circle
We know for our problem that the pond will have a 6-foot radius, so r=6. Lets replace that value on our area formula:
A= \pi r^2
A= \pi (6)^2
A=113.1ft^{2}
We know that the <span>cost of installing the pond is $0.62 per square foot, so lets multiply the area we just found by the cost:
Total cost of pund=</span>(0.62)(113.1)=70.12 dollars

Now, let x be the width the rectangle, so its length will be x+13. Remember that the area of a rectangle is width times length, so:
A=x(x+13)
A=(x^2+13x)ft^2
Since the cost of installing ties is $1, the cost of installing ties in our rectangle will be x^2+13x dollars.

<span>Stacy can spend no more than $536 on this project, so we can setup an inequality relating the cost of the pound and the cost of installing ties:
</span>70.12+x^2+13x \leq 536
x^2+13x \leq 465.88

We can conclude that the inequality that can be used to fin the width, x, of the patio is x^2+13x \leq 465.88

PLS HELP ME ASAP FOR ALL 6!! (MUST SHOW WORK!!!) +LOTS LOTS OF POINTS!!!
Sedaia [141]
1. -4a-6=-12
add 6 to both sides
-4a-6+6=-12+6
-4a=-6
Divide by -4
a= \frac{6}{4} = 1 \frac{1}{2}

2. \frac{3}{5} z- \frac{1}{4} = \frac{17}{20}
add \frac{1}{4} to both sides but you will need to make a common denominator on the right
\frac{3}{5} z- \frac{1}{4} + \frac{1}{4} =  \frac{17}{20} +  \frac{5}{20}
\frac{3}{5}z=  \frac{11}{10}
Divide by \frac{3}{5} which means multiply by the <span>reciprocal</span>.
\frac{3}{5}* \frac{5}{3} z= \frac{11}{10} * \frac{5}{3}
z= \frac{55}{30} =1 \frac{5}{6}

3. 2 \frac{1}{2}(e-1 \frac{3}{4})=5 \frac{1}{2}
Distribute
2 \frac{1}{2} e-4 \frac{3}{8} =5 \frac{1}{2}
Subtract
2 \frac{1}{2} e=1 \frac{1}{8}
Divide
e= \frac{9}{20}

4. 3w+7=20
Subtract
3w=13
Divide
w= \frac{13}{3} = 4 \frac{1}{3}

5. -.2p+.4=-1.2
Subtract
-.2p=-1.6
Divide
p=8

6. \frac{y}{4} - \frac{3}{5} = \frac{18}{20}
Add, made sure you change to common denominator first
\frac{y}{4} = 1 \frac{1}{4}
Multiply by 4
y=5

Hope that helps

My checkerboard is 16 inches long by 16 inches wide. There are 64 playing
Zolol [24]
I’m not too sure but i think The area of one is 4 inches. There are 8 squares on each side, so when finding the area of the board, you get 64. The checkerboard is 16 inches long, and there are 8 squares, so it is approximately 2 inches long. To find area, you multiply length by width. Since they are squares, it would be 2*2, which leads you to the answer of 4. Hope this helps!
