Find the volume of the composite solid. Round your answer to the nearest tenth.

Mathematics
1 answer:
Sati [7]3 years ago
3 0

Answer:

Volume = 646.0 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

The solid is made up of a hemisphere and a cube

Therefore,

Volume of the composite solid = ⅔πr³ + a³

Where,

r = ½(8) = 4 cm

a = 8 cm

Plug in the values

Volume of the composite solid = ⅔*π*4³ + 8³

= 134.04 + 512

= 646.0 cm³ (nearest tenth)

The area of one of the smaller circles is 8/ in². Find the area of the shaded region.
Ksju [112]

Answer:

Area of shaded region = 16π in² (D)

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is incomplete without the diagram if the circles. Find attached the diagram used in solving the question.

Area of the smaller circle = 8π in²

Area of a circle = πr²

πr² = 8π

r² =8

r = √8 = 2√2

From the diagram, there are two smaller circles in a bigger circle.

The radius of the bigger circle (R) is 2times the radius of the smaller circle (r)

R = 2r

Area of bigger circle = πR²

= π×(2r)² =   π×(2×2√2)²

= π×(4√2)² = π×16×(√2)²

Area of bigger circle = π×16×2

Area of bigger circle = 32π in²

Since there are two smaller circles in a bigger circle

Area of shaded region = Area of bigger circle -2(area of smaller circles)

Area of shaded region = 32π in² - 2(8π in²)

Area of shaded region = 32π in² - 16π in²

Area of shaded region = 16π in²

Suppose that a state introduces a state income tax which will be at a flat rate of 3%. The state legislature wishes to estimate
Greeley [361]

Answer:

The mean income is more useful

Step-by-step explanation:

If you know the mean income, then you can obtain the total income by multiplying for the total population. Once you know the total income, you can deduce the amount of money collected by multiplting the total income by 0.03.

Knowing the median income does only help you so much. The mediam income is only a parameter that says that 50% of the population earn less than that. However, if you dont know how much the richer people earn, you cant deduce how much from taxes will you collect. For a simplified example, the sets A = {1,3,18} and B = {1,3,4} have the same median, 3. however A sums a total of 22, while B only sums 8.

The mode of income alone is also not enough. Again, You can have a lot of salaries ranging from similar values, but if you dont know the exact value of other clusters of salaries, specifically the biggest ones, you will lack a lot of information. As a simplified example, the Sets A = {1,3,3,3,3,3,3, 7, 7,7} and B = {1,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,75} have both of them 3 as the most frequent number, however A has a mean of 4, while B has a mean of 10, despite having only 1 mayor cluster of numbers.

Is short, the mean is the bets way to determine the amount of rax collection, because it puts more realistic '<em>weights</em>' on higher income, and because it lets you obtain exact results for the total amount of income.

I hope this helped you!

Answer:

✔️2 sets of corresponding angles

<D and <S

<R and <L

✔️2 sets of corresponding sides

DR and SL

RM and LT

Step-by-step explanation:

When two polygons are congruent, it implies that they have the same shape and size. Therefore, their corresponding angles and sides are congruent to each other.

When naming congruent polygons, the arrangement of the vertices are kept in a definite order of arrangement.

Therefore, Given that polygon DRMF is congruent to SLTO, the following angles and sides correspond to each other:

<D corresponds to <S

<R corresponds to <L

<M corresponds to <T

<F corresponds to <O

For the sides, we have:

DR corresponds to SL

RM corresponds to LT

MF corresponds to TO

FD corresponds to OS.

We can select any two out of these sets of corresponding angles and sides as our answer. Thus:

✔️2 sets of corresponding angles

<D and <S

<R and <L

✔️2 sets of corresponding sides

DR and SL

RM and LT
