List the next three numbers for the sequence:<br><br> 34, 102, 408, 2040, ...
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

12240

85680

685440

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that the sequence is growing rapidly

To see how rapidly divide the second term by the first term

102/34 =3

Check the third term divided by the second term

408/102 =4

Check the fourth term divided by the third term

2040/408=5

To get the second term, multiply by 3,  to get the third term multiply by 4

to get the fourth term multiply by 5

to get the nth term multiply by (n+1)

The 5th term would be multiplied by 6

2040 *6 =12240

The 6th term by 7

12240*7=85680

The 7th term by 8

85680*8=685440

(c) Given that a respondent from age 12~50 is selected, what is the probability that the respondent believe email messages shoul
Ludmilka [50]

Question Completion:

Do people of different age groups differ in their response to email messages? A survey reported that 71.3% of users over 70 years of age believe that email messages should be answered quickly, as compared to 52.5% of users 12 to 50 years old. Suppose that the survey was based on 1, 000 users over 70 years of age and 1, 000 users 13 to 50 years old. The table summarizes the results.

          Answers Emails Quickly

Age         12 - 50     Over 70         Total

Yes          525             713             1,238

No            475            287               762

Total     1,000          1,000           2,000

Given that a respondent from age 12 to 50 is selected, what is the probability that the respondent believes that email messages should be answered quickly?

Answer:

The probability that the respondent, aged 12 to 50, believes that email messages should be answered quickly is:

= 52.5%

Step-by-step explanation:

Data and Calculations:

          Answers Emails Quickly

Age         12 - 50     Over 70         Total

Yes          525             713             1,238

No            475            287               762

Total     1,000          1,000           2,000

Aged 12 - 50:

Probability of answering emails quickly = Yes/Total = 525/1,000 * 100 = 52.5%

Probability of not answering emails quickly = No/Total = 475/1,000 * 100 = 47.5%

Aged over 70:

Probability of answering emails quickly = Yes/Total = 713/1,000 * 100 = 71.3%

Probability of not answering emails quickly = No/Total = 287/1,000 * 100 = 28.7%

b) The probability of an event happening (answering an email quickly by those aged 12 to 50) is the chance that this age group will respond to their emails quickly.  It is computed as the number of times that this age group responds to emails quickly divided by their total response to emails.  The quotient is then expressed as a percentage.

<span>contiguous subsequence of a list S is a subsequence made up of consecutive elements of S. For instance, if S is 5; 15;-30; 10;-5; 40; 10; then 15;-30; 10 is a contiguous subsequence but 5; 15; 40 is not. Give a linear-time algorithm for the following task: Input: A list of numbers, a1; a2; : : : ; an. Output: The contiguous subsequence of maximum sum (a subsequence of length zero has sum zero). For the preceding example, the answer would be 10;-5; 40; 10, with a sum of 55. (Hint: For each j =1; 2; : : : ; ng, consider contiguous subsequences ending exactly at position j.) Here is my solution in Python 3. Notes: * If more than one subset equal the maximum value, only the first is returned. * The manner of inputting the list was not specified. The list is hardcoded. * The output was not formatted exactly to specifications. * The preceding points were not improved upon in order to keep the code simple. ______python 3 -- leading dots are spaces for indentation____ def maxSubSeq(seq): ....max_sum = 0 ....max_subseq = [] ....for start in range(len(seq)): ........for end in range(start+1, len(seq)+1): ............subseq = seq[start:end] ............total = sum(seq[start:end]) ............if total > max_sum: ................max_sum = total ................max_subseq = subseq ....return(max_subseq) seq=[5, 15, -30, 10, -5, 40, 10] print(maxSubSeq(seq)) _____Output:_____ [10, -5, 40, 10] _____</span>

Is it true that (x^2–3x+2)/(x –1) = x – 2, for all values of x? Justify your answer.
just olya [345]
No, if x=1 then you get an undefined statement
if you want to try to simplify then

x^2-3x+2=(x-1)(x-2)

((x-1)(x-2))/(x-1)=x-2 is that true?
x-1 cancels out
x-2=x-2
true
but, the x-1 is trickey

if x=1, then the denomenator becomes 0 and the equation is undefined
undefined =x-2 is false

answer if no
but if your teacher says that it is true because of simplification tell that x=1 doesn't work
