\implies {\blue {\boxed {\boxed {\purple {\sf { \: x =  - 18}}}}}}

\large\mathfrak{{\pmb{\underline{\red{Step-by-step\:explanation}}{\red{:}}}}}

\frac{ - 3}{4}  =  \frac{x}{24}

➼ \: x =  \frac{ - 3 \times 24}{4}

➼ \: x =  \frac{ - 72}{4}

➼ \: x =  - 18

Therefore the value of x is -18.

\large\mathfrak{{\pmb{\underline{\blue{To\:verify}}{\blue{:}}}}}

\frac{ - 3}{4}  =  \frac{ - 18}{24}

➼ \:  \frac{ - 3}{4}  =  \frac{ - 3}{4}

➼ L. H. S. = R. H. S.

Hence verified.

X= -18.

So in -3/4 = x/24 , you have to begin by getting the same denominator. 4 goes into 24, 6 times, so you would have to multiply -3 by 6 too for them to be equal.
