Measured properties that are capable of changing values are called VARIABLES.
Variables are data values that may assume more than one value, that is, they are capable of changing. There are different types of variables; in scientific experiments for instance, there are three types of recognized variables, these are: dependent, independent and controlled variables.

I would say that for quantities or measured properties that are capable of changing values are called parameters. For example, with a transmission to shift to a lower gear the speed would have to be within certain parameters to allow the shift to take place.

stepladder [879]

The fatty acids in the tail of a phospholipid molecule are non-polar and hydrophobic.

Fats that you take in from your food is used to build membranes. Membranes can be represented by models such as The Fluid Mosaic Model, which displays the phospholipid bilayr, and other tissues on the membrane.

Why might a scientist want to disrupt the plasma membrane and how might they do this experimentally?
kupik [55]

It is possible to disrupt the plasma membrane by using enzymes and/or detergent agents.

What is the plasma membrane?

The plasma membrane is a lipid bilayer that is mainly composed of phospholipids and cholesterol.

In laboratory conditions, it is possible to disrupt this lipid bilayer by using detergent and proteins (enzymes) that break the bonds binding phospholipids.

For example, enzymes can break down the double bonds that bind fatty acids in the lipid bilayer.

In conclusion, the plasma membrane can be break down by applying enzymes and detergents.

The correct answer is -

1. right-handed

2. right-handed

3. positive

4. left-handed

5. negative

6. negative

Explanation:

In a circular bacterial chromosome, the structure of DNA is a right-handed double helix In a circular bacterial chromosome.

If DNA is twisted in the right-handed direction, it becomes overwound. Overwinding results in positive supercoiling takes place. If DNA is twisted in the left handd direction, it becomes underwound. Underwinding results in negative supercoiling.

f. One effect negative supercoiling in bacterial chromosomes is to promote separation of the two strands of DNA in the double helix
