A rental car company charges $38.38 per day to rent a car and $0.14 for every mile driven. Camden wants to rent a car, knowing t

hat: He plans to drive 350 miles. He has at most $270 to spend. Which inequality can be used to determine xx, the maximum number of days Camden can afford to rent for while staying within his budget?

Answer:

5.75 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

let the number of days be x and the number and the number of miles be y

so that the cost of the rental will be

c= 38.38x+ 0.14y---------1

we are told that the amount at hand is $270

hence

270=38.38x+ 0.14*(350)

solve for x

270= 38.38x+49

270-49= 38.38x

221= 38.38x

divide both sides by 38.38

x= 221/38.38

x= 5.75 days

Hence the  number of days is 5.75 days

Answer:

V = 128π/3 vu

Step-by-step explanation:

we have that: f(x)₁ = √(4 - x²);  f(x)₂ = -√(4 - x²)

knowing that the volume of a solid is  V=πR²h, where R² (f(x)₁-f(x)₂) and h=dx, then

dV=π(√(4 - x²)+√(4 - x²))²dx;  =π(2√(4 - x²))²dx ⇒

dV= 4π(4-x²)dx , Integrating in both sides

∫dv=4π∫(4-x²)dx , we take ∫(4-x²)dx and we solve

4∫dx-∫x²dx = 4x-(x³/3) evaluated -2≤x≤2 or too 2 (0≤x≤2) , also

∫dv=8π∫(4-x²)dx evaluated 0≤x≤2

V=8π(4x-(x³/3)) = 8π(4.2-(2³/3)) = 8π(8-(8/3)) =(8π/3)(24-8) ⇒

V = 128π/3 vu

Select the correct answer from each drop-down menu.
Alexxx [7]

Answer:

Graph B

No

Inside

Step-by-step explanation:

Let, the number of apples = x and number of peaches = y.

It is given that the farmer can afford maximum of 54 acres.

Thus, x + y ≤ 54.

Also, apples require 3000 gallons of water and peaches require 800 gallons of water each day.

Since, maximum amount of water is 80,000 gallons per day,

We get, 3000x + 800y ≤ 80,000.

It is required to maximize the profit given by z = 3400x + 1600y.

Thus, the system of equations becomes,

z = 3400x + 1600y

3000x + 800y ≤ 80,000.

x + y ≤ 54.

Plotting these equations gives the following graph.

We can see that the graph obtained is equivalent to Graph B.

Further, we know that the maximum value of the objective function z = 3400x + 800y is obtained at the boundary point of the solution region.

Thus, any point inside the solution region will give a feasible solution not maximum solution.

Hence, ( 30,20 ) will not maximize the profit as it lies inside the solution region.
