I can answer the first one, being options 2 and 5. The second question I am not sure about. I would think option 1, since there are less species and organisms on the island, so there might be less biodiversity.

An organism has 56 chromosomes in its diploid stage. Indicate how many chromosomes are present in the following, and explain you
kow [346]

Answer:

The correct answer will be option-

1.  somatic cells- 56 chromosomes( 28 pairs)

2. metaphase I- 56 chromosomes( 28 pairs)

3. metaphase Il-  28 chromosomes (14 pairs)

4. gametes- 28 chromosomes (14 pairs)

Explanation:

The cell divides its genetic material by one of the two ways of karyokinesis- mitosis and meiosis.

1. Mitosis produces two daughter cells which are genetically similar that is their ploidy level remains the same as that of the parent cell. Since the cell contains 56 chromosomes, It will produce two daughter cells with the same number of chromosomes.

2. During metaphase I, the 56 chromosomes get aligned in the equatorial plate as no separation of chromosomes has begun. Thus, the cell maintains the same ploidy level during metaphase I.

3. During meiosis II the chromosomes which got separated during the anaphase I am passed on to the daughter cell ans thus their number remains the same that is 28 chromosomes during metaphase II.

4. Gametes are formed by the process of meiosis which reduces the ploidy level to half that is 56 chromosomes gets reduce to 28 chromosomes.
