United States did not like communism in the 50's and 60's. So they fought proxy wars with the U.S.S.R., now dissolved in to different countries.<span />

It effected their culture and government as a whole. The American influence after WW2 caused the government to be democratic. The culture was now more relaxed and a little nicer to women. Japan started to make a lot of technology now that they weren't living like they were post ww2.
In the 50's-90's, Japan's economy was skyrocketing. They were selling computers, cameras, gaming systems and just about anything with tech as fast as they could and better than anyone else.
