Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Problem A

t(1) = 2(1) + 5

t(2) = 2*2 + 5 = 9

t(3) = 2*3 + 5 = 11

t(4) = 2*4 + 5 = 13

So this is the explicit result. Now try it recursively.

t_3 = t_2 + 2

t_3 = 9 + 2

t_3 = 11 which is just what it should do.

t_n = t_(n - 1) + 2

Problem B

t(1) = 3 * 1/2

t(1) = 3/2

t(2) = 3*(1/2)^2

t(2) = 3 * 1/4

t(2) = 3/4

t(3) = 3*(1/2)^3

t(3) = 3 * 1/8

t(3) = 3/8

t(4) = 3 (1/2)^4

t(4) = 3 (1/16)

t(4) = 3/16

So in general

t_n = t_n-1 * 1/2

For example t(5)

t_5 = t_4 * 1/2

t_5 = 3 /16 * 1/2 = 3/32

How many solutions does this system of equations have? Explain how you know.
Nostrana [21]

Answer:

No solution

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equations are :

9x-3y=-6

3x-y=2.....(1)

5y=15x+10

5y-15x=10

or

y-3x=2 .....(2)

Equations (1) and (2) shows that the lines are parallel. We know that for parallel lines, there is no solution.

The following graph plots the batting averages of 29 players of a baseball team against the weekly time (in hours) they spend in
grin007 [14]

Answer:

Batting practice increases batting averages.

Step-by-step explanation:

By looking at the graph, we clearly see a trend, almost a straight line (if you regroup the points a bit) going up.

So, it's clear that batting practice increases batting averages; they're directly related. The more a player practices at bat, the better will be his average.

Answers B and D (best and worst batters) are not proved at all by the graph, since there's data higher than those two cases.
