Michelle is building a rectangular landing strip for airplanes .She has material to cover 1/1,500 of a square mile. The landing

strip must be 1/6 of a mile long. With the amount of material that has , what is the greatest possible width the land strip, in miles?

I think that the missing word here is:
"with the amount of the material that Michelle has"

Let's say that her landing strip is x miles long, then its area would be:

\frac{1}{6} *x

We also know how big it is:

\frac{1}{6} *x= \frac{1}{1 500}

now, let's multiply both sides by 6:
\frac{6}{6} *x= \frac{6}{1 500}
1 *x= \frac{3}{750}
x= \frac{1}{250}

So the answer is that it would be x= \frac{1}{250} miles wide

A. Solve the differential equation <img src="https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=y%27%3D2x%20%5Csqrt%7B1-y%5E2%7D%20" id="TexFormula1" title
kirill [66]
y' = \frac{dy}{dx}

seperable differential equations will have the form
\frac{dy}{dx} = F(x) G(y)

what you do from here is isolate all the y terms on one side and all the X terms on the other
\frac{dy}{G(y)} = F(x) dx
just divided G(y) to both sides and multiply dx to both sides

then integrate both sides
\int \frac{1}{G(y)} dy = \int F(x) dx

once you integrate, you will have a constant. use the initial value condition to solve for the constant, then try to isolate x or y if the question asks for it

In your problem,
G(y) = \sqrt{1-y^2}

F(x) = 2x

so all you need to integrate is
\int \frac{1}{\sqrt{1-y^2}} dy = \int 2x dx

A 13-foot ladder is placed against a vertical wall of a building, with the bottom of the ladder standing on level ground 5 fee
Tanzania [10]
The answer is 12 because (a^2 + b^2 = c^2)

5^2 + b^2 = 13^2
25 + b^2 = 169

169- 25 = 144
\sqrt{144} Sqaure root of 144 is 12 so If we plug that in..
25 + 144 = 169
5^2 + 12^2 =13^2
This all checks out
~Hope This helps
