<h3>Answer:  Reflect over the y axis</h3>

=====================================================

Explanation:

We have these two given functions

  • f(x) = x+7
  • g(x) = -x+7

The change is that the x has been replaced with -x

We can say

f(x) = x+7

f(-x) = -x+7 ... replace each x with -x

g(x) = f(-x)

g(x) = -x+7

When we replace x with -x, we're flipping the x inputs from positive to negative, and vice versa. This visually will reflect the line over the vertical y axis. A point like (1,8) on f(x) reflects over to (-1,8) on g(x).

As another example, the point (-5,2) on f(x) reflects over the y axis to arrive at (5,2) on the g(x) function.

What is the rate of change between (-8,- 8) and (0,8)
iren [92.7K]

{ \qquad\qquad\huge\underline{{\sf Answer}}}

We need to find thr rate of change (slope) of the line joining these two points ~

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: m =   \dfrac{rise}{run}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: m =  \cfrac{8 - ( - 8)}{0 - ( - 8)}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: m =  \cfrac{8  +  8}{0  + 8}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: m =  \cfrac{16}{8}

\qquad \sf  \dashrightarrow \: m = 2

Slope of the line (m) joining the two points is 2 ~

Probability =
(number or amount of possible successes)(total number or amount of possible outcomes)

Area of any circle is (pi) x (radius squared)

Area of the whole board = (pi) x (13 squared) = 169 pi square inches

Area of the shaded region = (pi) x (5 squared) = 25 pi square inches

Probability = (success area) / (total possible area) = 25pi/169pi = <u>0.15 </u>(rounded)

Notice that if you do it my way ... keep 'pi' in the fraction ... you don't even
need to know what the value of 'pi' is, because there's one in the top and
bottom of the fraction, and they cancel.

How to graph a proportional relationship and calculate the unit rate.
poizon [28]

Answer:

The best way to show and explain direct proportional relationships is by graphing two sets of related quantities. If the relation is proportional, the graph will form a straight line that passes through the origin.
