The level of water in a draining pool can be modeled with the function d(t)= 12 (.72) ^ t, where d is the depth of water, measur

ed in feet, and t is the amount of time it’s been draining, measure in days.

Answer:

\approx -2.195

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the function:

d(t)= 12 (.72) ^ t

d is the depth of water in feet and

t is the amount of time

To find:

The average rate of change for t in the interval [0, 4].

Solution:

The required rate of change in the time interval [0, 4] can be represented as:

Change in the function over the interval [0, 4] and the change in the interval.

OR

\Rightarrow \dfrac{d(4)-d(0)}{4-0}\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{12 (.72) ^ 4-12 (.72) ^ 0}{4-0}\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{3.22-12 \times 1}{4}\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{3.22-12}{4}\\\Rightarrow \dfrac{-8.78}{4}\\\Rightarrow \bold{-2.195}

I think that you are mistaking the memory tool for something else
or a math book is trying to make math cute by calling them 'socatoa joe' and 'mr. pi' and such

anyway, SOH, CAH, TOA is the way to remember
Sine=oposite/hypotonuse
Cosine=adjacent/hypotonuse
Tangent=oposite/adjacent

(oposite side=side oposite the angle
adjacent is the side touching the angle that is not they hypotonuse
and of course the hypotonuse is the longest side aka, side oposite right angle)

    She exhaled deeply, eyeing the brown clock vigilantly. One more hour of utter boredom and suffering. Her afterschool activity had been canceled last minute, meaning she had to wait to be picked up with nothing to do till it would have ended. She sat on a dirty and peeling maroon bench in the schoolyard, her back to the worn soccer pitch.  Figuring she might as well find some way to pass the time before finally going home, she began to doodle in her orange and blue notebook.

Step-by-step explanation:

1. yes, they work together to set the scene by providing details to where she is and why. the sentences describe her emotions without making the paragraph boring.

2. for the most part, the reasoning for her being there afterschool could have been mentioned first but the way it is currently written makes sense regardless.

3. the writer could have included transitions to better connect the sentences. but overall, it is well written.
