Answer:

a. Sage and Tom have the same number of talk minutes left on their cell phone plans.

b. y = x - 7

Explanation:

Sage talked for 7 minutes with her dad.

Tom talked for 4 minutes with a friend and 3 more minutes with his mom which means he spoke for :

= 4 + 3

= 7 minutes

They both spoke for 7 minutes and therefore have the same amount of time left.

Algebraic expression:

Assuming the time Tom started with is denoted by x and the time he is left with is denoted by y.

The expression is:

y = x - 7

P(Larger or blue) = 7/10. In a bag we have blue and red marbels, which are large and small as in the table shown in the image, the probability of taking a large or blue marble is 7/10.

The key to solve this problem is find the probability of the union events using the equation P(A∪B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A∩B).

For this problem we have P(Large or Blue) = P(Large) + P(Blue) - P(Large and Blue). The total of the large ones is 25 and the small ones is 15, meaning that the sum of both is 40. P(large) = 25/40, P(Blue) 20/40, and P(Large and Blue) = 17/40

P(Large or Blue) = 25/40 + 20/40 - 17/40 = 28/40 dividing by 4 both terms of the fraction.

P(large or Blue) = 7/10

Hi there.

4th quadrant.

Recall that:

csc θ = 1 / (sin θ) - deals with y-values

sec θ = 1 / (cos θ) - deals with x-values

If csc θ < 0, then the y-coordinate of the angle must be negative.

If sec θ > 0, then the x-coordinate of the angle must be positive.

The quadrant on the coordinate plane that consists of negative y-coordinates and positive x-coordinates is the 4th quadrant.
