What is a direct quotation?
shtirl [24]
A direct quotation are the exact words of someone else written into your writing. Pretty much let's say you take a quote from Obama. He says, in exact words "<span>The future rewards those who press on. I don't have time to feel sorry for myself. I don't have time to complain. I'm going to press on." This is a direct quotation, as no words have been changed and it's exactly what he says.</span>

Choose the word that best fills in blank ?
bearhunter [10]
C. rant
He went into a long rant about the outcome of the election after it was mentioned on the news.

assert and fastidious are not nouns, which is what the sentence is asking for "a thing", so they are not the correct answers. As well they only mention one person in the sentence and quibble is an argument, which needs more than one person. Therefore it is not likely to be the correct answer. A rant is a long tirade by one person, it fits the best within the sentence.

Depending on the severity of the case, punishments from getting a zero on the assignment & the parents getting contacted (which is almost always the case), to failing the class, suspension, and even expulsion.

I hope that I helped you and that this is never the case for you - good luck!
