Mathematics
1 answer:
Phantasy [73]3 years ago
4 0

5% or 5percent can be thought of 5 per 100.

5 per 100 or 5 out of 100 can be written as 5/100 or 1/20.

An hour have 60 minutes and 1/20 of an hour is 60*1/20=3 minutes.

Therefore Sara can work 3 minutes every hour.

yawa3891 [41]
It is easier to write the equivalent ratios first, then use that information to find the missing values.

4. ratio: TVs/Computers = 2/7, or Computers/TVs = 7/2. Missing value: 21/7*2 = 6.

Why can you multiply or divide both terms of a ratio by the same number without changing the value of the ratio
o-na [289]
The ratio is rational and by multiplying or dividing the numbers included in the ratio by the same number, it's just like taking a fraction and taking it out of simplest form, it doesn't change the value of the ratio or the fraction in simplest form, it just changes the numbers
