The Down Hill is a type of Ski competition that was invented or created by Sir Arnold Lunn of England.

During the Down Hill, Skiers go as fast as 145Km/H and many courses are about 5 km in length. Also known as Alpine skiing, they are considered the fastest events in the Ski course.

The only contraptions which are available to control the skier's speed are gates and the terrain itself.  In this high stakes ski, the only protection the skiers have are nothing more than their helmets and the snow netting that lines the trail of the ski.

One of the points of the Downhill is to go as fast as one can. To achive this, skiers keep their body in the most aerodynamical position possible in order to move as fast as they can without losing control.
