How meiosis turn one cell into four new sex cells?

Biology

Answer:

A single round of DNA replication occurs in the parent cell, followed by two distinct nuclear division cycles. The process produces four haploid daughter cells, each with half as many chromosomes as the diploid parent cell.

Explanation:

During sexual reproduction, meiosis produces the sex cells that combine to make new children.

Meiosis is a type of cell division that results in the formation of sex cells (egg and sperm). And that is brought together to generate new progeny through the act of sexual reproduction.

Meiosis generally results in 4 haploid daughter cells, meaning half no chromosomes are contained in diploid cells.

The light reactions of photosynthesis occur in the __________________. During this reaction, _______________ is split to form en
Neko [114]

Answer:

1. Thylakoid

2. Water

3. Oxygen

4. Glucose

Explanation:

Photosynthesis is a unique process where autotrophs make their own food. It is a metabolic activity that occurs in the Chloroplast. Photosynthesis occurs in two main stages viz: light dependent stage and light-independent stage. The light dependent stage, which occurs in the thylakoid lumen of the CHLOROPLAST. It involves the capturing of light energy from the sun using the Chlorophyll pigment. The Chlorophyll molecule gets excited and the energy derived is used to split water molecule in a process called PHOTOLYSIS OF WATER.

The protons derived from this is used to build a proton pump that will facilitate the synthesis of ATP. A reduced electron carrier (NADPH) is also produced. Oxygen gas is released as a byproduct in this stage.

In the light independent stage, also known as Calvin cycle, the NADPH and ATP produced in the first stage is used to synthesize glucose molecule.

Sickle cell anemia is a recessive disorder that is only expressed if inherited from which of the following?
Vinvika [58]
The answer is Both parents.

Sickle cell anemia is a recessive disorder. These means that individuals with the condition must have two recessive alleles. Those alleles are inherited from the parents although parents may be healthy individuals (but they are heterozygous carriers and have one dominant and one recessive allele): If an individual inherit one recessive allele from a mother and one recessive allele from a father, it will be recessive homozygote and thus the condition will be expressed.
