Many  household technologies were invented in 1920 and considered as luxury at that time such as refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners and the electric iron.

These items were new in  1920s and buying them was a sign of wealth and luxury because of their high prices. But in todays worlds these things are necessity.

Now every home require the electric iron,  refrigerators, and washing machines for their day to day life and work. These things are now a days parameters of the  standard of living. People not having these necessary items in home are seeing as below the standard of living.
