The US is the world's leading economy, the world's largest power. The explanation for this success comes from the natural wealth of the country, the political positioning of wars, and the fact that there is a well-organized institutional environment through an old constitution.

However, there is a key element for US positioning in the geoeconomic context: the dollar.

The dollar is the American domestic currency, but it is also the official currency of contracts around the entire planet. That gives the US the ability to influence just about anything in the world. Any change in the dollar affects all globalized economies.
