In order to avert the same issue from occurring in the following farming season, the farmer has two options:
1. <em>to supplement the farmland with a fertilizer that contains the major nutrients in order to compensate for their natural absence.</em>
2.<em> to temporarily stop farming on that farmland in order to allow the land to naturally regain the lost nutrients through a fallowing system. The farmer can look for another piece of land with the major nutrients while the initial farmland is recuperating.</em>
