Answer:

by using substuton method

2x=22-y

x=22-y/2                     equation (i)

so substuting the value x in x-y=5

22-y/2-y=5

22-y-2y/2=5

22-3y=10

22-10/3=y

12/3=y

4=y

now substitute the value of y in equation (i)

x=22-y/2

=22-4/2

=18/2

=9

therefore ,the value of x is 9 and y is 4
