This is an opinion question, however, if we take into account the recent me too movement, essentially women without the support of others are afraid to come out, or simply do not want to talk about it till they end up feeling obligated to do so, almost creating a support network/ domino effect getting more women to come out about their issues.  theres also the issues of stockholm syndrome where they victimize the abuser, but thatbut that can be lessened as more people come out about it, and a saftey network is established
