1. Painkillers/Pain relievers = Painkillers are commonly <em>over-the-counter medications</em> which people take for headaches or fever. It can also be prescribed by doctors and it actually works with wonders if taken accordingly. However, if a person relies on it too often, this will lead to a higher tolerance for the drug. Thus, the person will need to increase his dosage every time in order to relieve himself from pain. A high dosage of pain reliever may lead to death.
2. Sedatives like "sleeping pills." = Sleeping pills are commonly given to people who have a hard time sleeping. Sometimes it makes people too dependent on them that they take it every day. This should only be used in a short-term period. This could lead to an abuse of using them and thereby increasing one's tolerance. This means that, <u>the person will have to increase his dosage without the prescription of the doctor</u>. In some cases, they seek medical help from other doctors <em>to get an additional refill</em>. If they ever decided to undergo rehabilitation, it will be hard for them to recover and they may experience the so-called<em> "rebound insomnia."</em>
