Answer:

50 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Dan and june mix two kind of feed for pedigreed dogs

Feed A worth is $0.26 per pound

Feed B worth is $0.40 per pound

Let x represent the cheaper amount of feed and y the costlier type of feed

x+y= 70..........equation 1

0.26x + 0.40y= 0.30×70

0.26x + 0.40y= 21.........equation 2

From equation 1

x + y= 70

x= 70-y

Substitutes 70-y for x in equation 2

0.26(70-y) + 0.40y= 21

18.2-0.26y+0.40y= 21

18.2+0.14y= 21

0.14y= 21-18.2

0.14y= 2.8

Divide both sides by the coefficient of y which is 0.14

0.14y/0.14= 2.8/0.14

y= 20

Substitute 20 for y in equation 1

x + y= 70

x + 20= 70

x= 70-20

x = 50

Hence Dan and june should use 50 pounds of the cheaper kind in the mix

At a baseball game, 3 drinks and 4 hotdogs cost $15.00. At the same game, 3 drinks and 1 hotdog cost $10.50. Find the cost for a
Serhud [2]

Answer:

$3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Let the cost of drinks be x

and the cost of hotdogs be y

so

3x+4y=15-------1

also

3x+y= 10.5------2

solve 1 and 2

3x+4y=15

-3x+y= 10.5

     3y= 4.5

divide both sides by 3

y= 4.5/3

y= $1.5

Put y= 1.5 in 1

3x+4(1.5)=15

3x+6= 15

3x=15-6

3x= 9

x= 9/3

x= $3

Hence the cost of a drink is $3

What is the missing step in solving the inequality 5 – 8x < 2x + 3? Add 2x to both sides of the inequality. Subtract 8x from
kvasek [131]

Answer:

⇒ Add 8x to both sides of the inequality

⇒ x>1/5

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you subtract by 5 from both sides of equation.

5-8x-5<2x+3-5

Solve.

-8x<2x-2

Then subtract by 2x from both sides of equation.

-8x-2x<2x-2-2x

Solve.

-10x<-2

Multiply by -1 from both sides of equation.

(-10x)(-1)>(-2)(-1)

Solve.

10x>2

Divide by 10 from both sides of equation.

10x/10>2/10

Solve to find the answer.

2/10=10/2=5 2/2=1=1/5

x>1/5 is final answer.

Hope this helps!
