The triangular sail of a toy sailboat is supposed to be a right triangle. The manufacturer says the sides of the sail have lengt
Shtirlitz [24]
To be a right angled triangle, it must follow the rule a² + b² = c² (where c is the longest side)

4.5² + 6² = 20.25 + 36 = 56.25
7² = 49
This is NOT a right angled triangle.

To make this into a right angled triangle, the longest side c should be longer.
c = √56.25 = 7.5 inches

Find the 14th term of the geometric sequence 2, 4, 8, ...2,4,8,...
Komok [63]

Answer:

14th term is 16,384

Step-by-step explanation:

I. When a_{n} = a_{1}(r^{n-1} )

If n = 14, a = 2 and r = 2

         a_{14} = 2(2^{14-1} )

               = 2(2^{13})

         a_{14}      = 16,384

Match the reasons with the statements in the proof if the last line of the proof is: 6. ∠3 and ∠5 are supplementary because of t
mote1985 [20]

Answer with Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that

Line s is parallel to line t.

To prove that : angle 3 and angle 5 are supplementary.

1.s\parallelt

Reason: Given

2.Angle 1 and  angle 3 are supplementary

Reason: Exterior sides in opposite rays

3.\angle 1+\angle 3=180^{\circ}

Reason: By definition of supplementary

4.\angle 1=\angle 5

Reason: If lines are parallel , then corresponding angles are equal.

5.\angle 3+\angle 5=180^{\circ}

Reason: Substitution

Hence, proved.
