If it's the Nth Term rule then: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 That's a pattern. You must first find what is the gap from 1 term to another. for example from 3 to 6 we know the gap is 3. Therefore it's known as +3. You would have to write: 3n + 3 because if you look (The pattern is adding that's why we use + if it was substracting we would use the - in the middle) and at 6 the second term you can say 6 - 3 to show the previous Value which is 3 therefore you would have to write the Nth Term as 3n - 3

Strike441 [17]

Answer:

x--------------y

4--------------2

8--------------3

12-------------4

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 1/4x + 1

We substitute the values under x into the equation

Equation 1: y = 1/4(4) + 1

Equation 2: y = 1/4(8) + 1

Equation 3: y = 1/4 (12) + 1

Let's solve for equation 1:

Equation 1: y = 1/4(4) + 1

y = 1/4(4) + 1

Multiply number in parenthesis

y = 1/4 * 4/1 + 1

1/4 and 4/1 turn into 1

y = 1 + 1

Add 1 to 1

y = 2

Let's solve for equation 2:

y = 1/4(8) + 1

Multiply number in parenthesis

y = 1/4 * 8/1 + 1

1/4 and 8/1 turn into 2

y = 2 + 1

Add 2 to 1

y = 3

Let's solve for equation 3:

y = 1/4 (12) + 1

Multiply number in parenthesis

y = 1/4 * 12/1 + 1

1/4 and 12/1 turn into 3

y = 3 + 1

Add 3 to 1

y = 4

So the table of values would be:

x--------------y

4--------------2

8--------------3

12-------------4

v) the number of ways to paint the second building are 3.

vi) the number of ways to paint the third building are 2.

vii) the number of ways to paint the fourth building are 2.

viii) the number of ways to paint the last building are 1.

ix) therefore the total of ways the buildings can be painted are
