Explanation:

Scalar Quantity

1 . Scalar quantity has only magnitude, but no

direction.

2. Every scalar quantity is one dimensional.

3. Any change in scalar quantity is the

reflection of change in magnitude.

w

4. Scalar quantity cannot be resolved as it has

exactly same value regardless of direction.

5. Any mathematical operation carried out

among two or more scalar quantities will

provide a scalar only. However, if a scalar is

operated with a vector then the result will b(

a vector.

6. Few examples of scalar quantity: length,

mass, energy, density, etc.

Vector quantity

1 . Vector quantity has both magnitude and

direction.

2. Vector quantity can be I -D, 2-D or 3-D.

3. Any change in vector quantity can reflect

either change in direction or change in

magnitude or changes in both.

4. Vector can be resolved in any direction using

sine or cosine of the adjacent angle.

5. Result of mathematical operations between

two or more vectors may give either scalar or

vector. Dot product of two vectors gives only

scalar; while, cross product or summation or

subtraction results in a vector.

6. Examples of vector quantity: displacement,

velocity, acceleration, force, etc.

Find h , the maximum height attained by the projectile. express the maximum height in terms of v 0 , θ , and g .
lutik1710 [3]

solution:

the utmost height would be comprehensive while y'(t)=0. (on the suitable of the trajectory, the y speed is 0.)y(t)=(88sin20)t-16t^2 y'(t)=88sin20-32t So y'(t)=0 while t=(88sin20)/32

A gymnast spring vertical upward from a trampoline as in figure. The gymnast leaves the trampoline at height of 1.20m and reache
vaieri [72.5K]

Answer:

The initial velocity of the gymnast is 8.5 m/s.

Explanation:

We can use the kinematic equation

v_f^2= v_o^2+2ad

to figure out the initial velocity v_o of the gymnast.

Now, when the gymnast reaches the maximum height,  the distance he has traveled is d = 4.8m- 1.2m = 3.6 m, and his velocity is zero; therefore v_f =0.

Thus, we have

0 = v_0^2+2(-10m/s^2)(3.6m)

v_0^2=72m^2/s^2

\boxed{v_0= 8.5m/s}

A porcupine eats 3,000 J of plant material. Of this, 2,100 J is indigestible and is eliminated as feces, 800 J are used in cellu
Aloiza [94]

Answer:

3%

Explanation:

The total energy ingested is 3000J and of those 3000J, 100J are used for growth and reproduction, this is the part of production in the porcupine, since the other 800J and 2100J are used for internal processes of the porcupine.

Therefore the production efficiency is 100J of the 3000J, let's find out how much it is in percentage:

\frac{100}{3000}=0.033

⇒0.033=3.3% ≈ 3%

The correct option es 3% of production efficiency.
