We don't know what the question is.

It could be "What is the selling price ?"
If that's the question, then . . .

Since the store marks up their cost by 60% before they sell
the thing, the price they sell it for is

                       (1.60 of their cost).

You know their cost. The selling price is (1.60 x $80) .

What is the solution set of x2 + y2 = 26 and x − y = 6? A. {(5, -1), (-5, 1)} B. {(1, 5), (5, 1)} C. {(-1, 5), (1, -5)} D. {(5,
Rus_ich [418]
He two equations given are
x^2 + y^2 = 26
And
x - y = 6
x = y +6
Putting the value of x from the second equation to the first equation, we get
x^2 + y^2 = 26
(y + 6) ^2 + y^2 = 26
y^2 + 12y + 36 + y^2 = 26
2y^2 + 12y + 36 - 26 = 0
2y^2 + 12y + 10 = 0
y^2 + 6y + 5 = 0
y^2 + y + 5y + 5 = 0
y(y + 1) + 5 ( y + 1) = 0
(y + 1)(y + 5) = 0
Then
y + 1 = 0
y = -1
so x - y = 6
     x + 1 = 6
x = 5
Or
y + 5 = 0
y = - 5
Again x = 1
So the solutions would be (-1, 5), (1 , -5). The correct option is option "C".

How can addition properties help me add whole numbers
Bas_tet [7]

Answer:

There are four addition properties that help to add whole numbers :

For any  whole number a, b, and c ;

1. Closure property of addition -   a+b

For example:

2+3=5

4+3=7

We can conclude that if we add any two whole number , we get another whole number.

2. Associative property of addition- when any whole number or variable are added, then that can be grouped in different way without changing result

a+(b+c)=(a+b)+c

For example:

2+(3+4)=(2+3)+4

3. Commutative property of addition- when any whole number or variable are added, then the order changed without changing the result.

a+b=b+a

For example: 2+3=3+2

4. Identity property of addition- when 0 is added to a whole number or variable , the result is the same variable or number.

a+0=0+a

For example: 3+0=0+3

0 is called an Identity for addition of whole numbers.
